qo to 30 days before the renewal date. This will allow you to give time to your current agent to shop for the best value *notice I did not say the cheapest! This time will allow you time to do your own evaluations and not be in a panic if your current insurance company goes crazy on price increases or sets you up for non-renewal because they are having too many storms in your are or so may other misfortunate incides can happen (accidents, tickets, credit score, company surplus etc etc.

Most carriers will send your auto insurance renewal notice forty-five to sixty days before your renewal and renewal is normally automatic with your current carrier if you are set up with an automatic payment program. If you feel that your rates are too high or you are not happy with your current carrier or agent, you do have the right to call other carriers to compare rates and possibly switch your coverage to them.
