    You need to notify your insurance company as soon as your teenager has a driver’s license.  Most insurers don’t need to know if the dependent has a learner’s permit.  Usually this involves a telephone call to the company or their agent.  You can expect that the “inexperienced” driver will be assigned to one of the cars and that will impact the premium for that car.
