    If someone is injured report the claim immediately! You are obliged to file a claim as soon as possible.  Your policy limits the period of time in which you can file a claim.  That period of time usually starts from the time you are aware of the damage.  Your trusted insurance agent can guide you through this process.  If your loss is near or below the deductible for the coverage (collision or comprehensive) you might want to have the damage repaired without reporting the loss.  Reported losses can impact future premiums.
