    Great question! You should keep it either with you, or someplace easily accessible in your car. If you are pulled over, or are involved in an accident, the officer is going to want to see proof of your current insurance. Be sure to replace the old one with the newer one when you receive it.     It is considered the best idea to keep it along with your vehicle registration in your car. As was stated earlier by my colleague, those documents need to be readily available in the event that there is a circumstance where you are asked by a law enforcement officer to produce them.
