You can add immediate family members to your policy if they reside at the same address as the insured. You could also add a spouse to your auto policy if they reside at the same address. Every state sets it own regulations regarding insurance. To best find out about the regulations within your state either look at your states office of commissioner web site or contact a local agent.

Typically, whether you live in Ohio, California, New York, Texas, or any other state, there will be restrictions regarding who can be added to your car insurance policy. Certainly, you must be a licensed driver, although a dependent living in the household can often be covered while they have their temporary license.

An experienced broker can quickly advise you who can be added and who can't!

Anyone living in your household who as access or driving privileges to your autos should be added or excluded from your policy. Any one who does not reside in your household does not need to be added. However you want to check with your insurance provider to see if your policy has permissive use and if so at what limits of coverage's.
