    Yes, you can collect Disability Insurance and Social Security. If the Disability Insurance benefits are from a private policy, your Social Security Disability benefits will not be affected. There is a maximum percent of your income that can be replaced by the insurance benefits added together. If the Disability Insurance is from a public source, the amount of SSDI will be reduced so that the total benefits added together does not exceed 80% of your previous income.
