Preexisting conditions? Which ones? Disability insurance is a morbidity product based on living incidents that can impair your ability to earn a living. Most preexisting conditions will disqualify you from disability insurance. However many employer group benefits carry short term disability with some as an automatic enrollment feature which would assist you in securing some coverage.

Can you get disability insurance with a pre-existing condition?  Yes, it possible but it will depend on what the pre-existing condition is. Also disability policies carry an exclusion clause that in most cases would create a situation where the policy wouldn't pay for the condition creating a disability. Good disability insurance is very hard to get, even when totally healthy. Unfortunately, most people only begin to think about having coverage "after" they've gone through a disability, which in turn makes it extremely difficult to purchase coverage.
