You can obtain Disability Insurance through your employer and/or you can buy a private Disability Insurance policy. If your place of employment does not offer DI, look on the internet or in the phone book to find an agency that sell Disability Insurance. Many companies that sell Life or Health Insurance also sell DI. I would be happy to assist you, if you would care to contact me.

When you look at getting Disability Insurance, your income, type of employment, occupation with specific duties will be important to have ready. These will help determine how your policy will be built. Be sure to look at having partial coverage or residual income along with automatic benefit increases if your benefit is greater than one year.

Disability can be complicated so be sure to have your broker walk you through the options to find out what best fits your needs.
