You can find out what your health insurance covers by contacting your broker or directly calling the insurer that issued the policy.

A duplicate contract can be sent that details all of your benefits, including copays, deductibles, limits of coverage, exclusions and the original effective date. If you need to change policies, an experienced broker can help determine the best way to find and compare rates.

Your best resource for information about a policy that is already in force is from the insurance carrier directly. There will be a toll free number on your card. If you have a direct relationship with an agent who helped you purchase the policy, that person can be of assistance if you run into any challenges. The people at the carrier's call center are human too and sometimes you can get bad information simply due to human error. If you think an answer is wrong, call back and get another representative. If you get stuck, call your agent!
