   Health insurance is more expensive for smokers.  In fact, under the Affordable Healthcare Act (aka Obama Care), it is one of only three factors considered in calculating the monthly premium - geographic area in which you live, your age and tobacco usage (Y/N).  As a smoker, the new law will allow insurance companies to increase monthly premiums to a maximum of 50% higher than a non smoker.
