    There are very few health insurance plans that pay for IVF. Most policies will not provide coverage unless required by law. Fifteen states have mandates requiring the certain health plans cover infertility treatments. Of that group only nine specifically require IVF coverage.

    These mandates apply mostly to group plans issued in the state, so if your employer is headquartered in a mandate state those rules may apply. On the other hand the mandates have loopholes. If you live in a mandate state you may not be guaranteed coverage.
