What Is Health Insurance Rescission?
- 21750 POINTSview profileJim WinklerCEO/Owner, Winkler Financial Group, Houston, TexasThat is a good question about a bad thing. Rescission is the action taken by an insurance company when they retroactively cancel a policy due to fraud on the applicants part. Before 2010, an insurer could do it if they found errors or omissions on your application, but in fall 2010 the law was changed to require provable fraud. It makes no difference if your policy is paid to date either. I hope that you never have to find out. Thanks for asking!Answered on May 9, 2014flag this answer
