The effective date of a health insurance plan is the date your coverage starts. It will be different for each person because it depends on when you applied for the coverage and what your requested/approved effective date for coverage is. You can view your plan's effective date inside your policy.

If you're unsure what coverage you have and/or what your effective date is, you should contact an experienced health insurance broker who can review these items with and help you find out if there is a plan that will be more suitable to your specific needs.

I hope the information is helpful - please feel free to contact me for help and if you have any other questions. Thanks very much.
