You don't need health insurance in order to get a physical or any other wellness exam. Just pay the provider out of pocket for the expenses. You may have to negotiate the rates up front as you may lose cost containment associated with having health insurance.

The primary purpose of health insurance is to provide financial protection in case you are seriously sick or hurt. Most people are unable to afford extensive medical treatments for severe health conditions. A physical for an otherwise healthy individual does not meet this description.
