    You can have as many homeowners’ policies as you have homes.  If you own a house that you are leasing to others, then a fire policy would be the more appropriate choice (it has only limited coverage for personal property—contents.)  You cannot, however, have two homeowner’s policies on the same home and hope to claim damages from both policies.
