Home Insurance does not cover the theft of an Automobile.   However,  homeowners insurance does cover the loss of personal property away from home.    If your vehicle has been stolen and your personal belongings were in the vehicle,  the auto insurance would provide coverage for the vehicle and your homeowners insurance would provide coverage for your personal property.

It is important to review coverage details on your policy since there are different forms of coverage available in each State and slight variations of endorsements with different insurance companies. In both cases,  your individual policy deductible will apply.   On most home insurance,  10% of your Personal Property Coverage is covered while away from home.
