    Not sure what type of leak you are referring to, but in regards to things like roof leaks and pipe leaks generally speaking a home insurance policy could pay to fix the damage the leak causes but most won't pay to fix the actual leak itself.  BE AWARE that this pertains to new or recent leaks. Many carriers have put language in their policy contracts over the last couple of years excluding coverage for for prolonged leaks.  Some carriers have even set a time frame as short as 14 days for this exclusion.

    Every carrier is different and those carriers are even different from state to state.  This is something you definitely need to run past your local independent agent.  Don't discuss this in general terms, but ask for the specific language in your actual policy.
