Homeowners insurance covers your furniture in the household for the perils of the policy. There is a line item called coverage "C" for your personal property and there you would see the amount of coverage. Generally personal property is calculated at a percentage of your dwelling. So if your house burns down and your contents are destroyed your coverage "C" would cover your furniture. Talk to your local agent as there are certain items that will have limitations.
