    Yes, unless it is excluded.

    I know that is a horrible answer, but it is the truth.  Typically a homeowners policy will have coverage for a windstorm/wind damage.  For example, it is very common in Michigan to have windstorm coverage since we rarely get tornadoes in the area.

    However, if you should live in an area prone to tornadoes, it will be common to see an exclusion for windstorms in the basic policy.  You will typically have to get an endorsement in these areas for windstorm damage.  

    I hope that your home wasn't one that was recently destroyed due to the tornadoes in Oklahoma, and if you are my hopes and wishes go out to you and everyone else who is dealing with that tragedy.
