Switching companies is very easy to do. As a consumer you have the right to change companies at anytime. The only thing I caution is to look if switching homeowners insurance would have any adverse effects with other polices you may have with the same company. Also if you have claims on your record you want to be sure the new agent has done all the proper underwriting so you don't get bit in the pants by either rate changes or the possibility of being canceled for not meeting underwriting guidelines.

It is very easy to switch homeowners insurance carriers!  A great word of caution regarding coverage differences, deductible differences  and carrier service reputation before you decide to switch!   In many cases, consumers see a rate increase and simply wish to jump ship as if they were offended; the following year the same thing happens again with the new carrier.   Rates are constantly adjusted based on changing statistics regarding claims and operational costs.

Regarding applying to a new carrier, it is essential that information regarding prior claims, breed of dogs (pets) and credit reports (in applicable States) have all been checked prior to committed to the change.   In short,  the process of changing carriers could be as quick as 10 minutes due to automation that technology as brought to the industry.
