This question is really tough to answer because you are not defining what actual coverage you want your homeowner's policy to provide. But I would respond to this question this way.

I’d want my homeowner’s policy to provide “Guaranteed Replacement Cost” coverage on my house, “Replacement Cost” coverage on my personal property and All-risk* coverage on both. I’d want at least a $300,000 limit for Personal Liability and a $1000 property deductible.

I would expect the amount of insurance on my house to be consistent with the current cost to replace it and if the premium I was quoted was more than $2-3 per thousand, I would keep looking.

If you have neighbors with similar homes you could ask them what they are paying and in that way get an idea of the price of a homeowner’s policy.  It is as easy to contact a trusted insurance agent.  This agent will tailor a quote that will apply specifically to your home.  Further, he can place the coverage in force if you wish.  Remember, it is the selection of limits that is the critical issue.  Don’t skimp, you could find any savings of little benefit when you have a claim.

Great Question that is more or less not possible to answer. No one can estimate the cost of home insurance because there are just too many variables. A major change in any one significant variable and the whole estimate goes out the window.

Contact a broker and get a couple of quotes.
