   I don't believe that it is a legal requirement to have homeowners insurance in an state in the U.S. currently. Most if not all lenders will require that you carry homeowners insurance before they will provide you a loan. A home is a pretty costly investment one that most people work very hard to get and maintain; why would you want to put all of that at risk to save a few dollars a month. Call your local agent today and find out how affordable a policy can be.
