    Not always.

It all depends on how the loan is structired from the beginning (or refinancing) of the loan. Some lenders REQUIRE that it be part of your escrow account along with your taxes.

If it is NOT part of your escrow account, you can always make monthly payments.

If you do NOT have your OWN home insurance, a lender will sometimes place "FORCED PLACEMENT" coverage on your home to protect the lenders' interests.
