The are several variables to consider when purchasing home insurance. The first step is to determine the Replacement Cost of your home. Replacement Cost is not the purchase price or assessed value but rather the cost to rebuild your home. Next you want to review the other lines of coverage and make sure these limits meet your needs. After this you should ask what optional coverages are available such as Water/Sewer Back up, Ordinance and Law, Personal Injury, Identity Theft, Extended Replacement Cost or Guaranteed Replacement Cost. One policy does not fit all and there can be a big difference in coverages from one company to the next so make sure you take the time necessary to protect your home.
