    Unless the tree has come down and caused damage to a portion of your home or other real property, you will probably find that tree removal as an effort of maintaining your property will not be covered under a Homeowners' policy.  Under the conditions I mentioned earlier, you should check with your insurance professional to see about some coverage for removal as a part of the damage claim.
