    No, you cannot do a 1035 exchange from an annuity to life insurance. That would be considered a replacement, with tax consequences. Doing the reverse as a 1035 exchange is OK; you can 1035 exchange a life insurance policy to an annuity issued by a life insurance company, with certain conditions.
