If not, ask relatives or friends if they recall him ever talk about buying life insurance. Check with local financial agencies to see if they sold him one. If you know his favorite life insurance companies, you can call them to ask if there was any policy taken out on your father. Finally, if all else fails, keep any eye out for unclaimed property a few years down the road.
