    Merry Christmas.
IF the insurance was taken out while you are an adult, you have to sign off on the application as the insured.  If this is the case, be sure you understand whey the insurance is being taken out, who the owner will be and details like is there going to be cash value, how much is the death benefit, etc.

If you do not recall or a policy was taken out while you were a child, you can go to MIB.com, click on the link for finding a lost policy.  Good Luck.

You can ask your parents or grandparents. If they do not have life insurance on you, and you have not signed an application as the Insured for anyone else, it is doubtful that anyone has a policy on you. Life insurance requires the consent of the insured person, if the Insured is an adult. And that consent nearly always requires that the Insured signs the application.

Great question! The only way someone can take out a policy on you is if they have what is called an "insurable interest". That means, they will have to suffer a loss, if you were to pass. A stranger, or someone that you just met could not, as there is no loss for them if you were to pass. If you do not remember signing off on an application for the insurance, the only way there could be a policy for you is if it was written while you were a young child. It would have to have been written by a close family member, (parents or grandparents in most cases) and you should be able to find out if you were to ask them. There are places that you can pay a fee to, and they will look for you, should no one be able to answer your questions. I hope that helps you, if you have more questions, please contact me, I'm happy to help. Thanks for asking!
