    #1 thing to remember is you are a marketer.  It does not matter where you work as long as you get your name and what your marketing out to your niche.

    The website will become your friend so you will need to be sure you have a presence out there.  Social media is another way to market if you use it right. You have to be proactive.

    Then you should have products that you can use online unless you will be visiting your clients in person.  There are companies that have great tools you can use to make this easier as well.

    The way to sell life insurance at home is to be an independent insurance producer. In which you will be contracted with multiple companies that specialize in one best product. 
    Some once you are with a marketing company that is a middle contact then you may choose carriers to be contracted for. There are companies that recruits agents for all 50 states which also allows the recruiting agent to to collect the percentage of premium from the recruit.
