You could rank companies on a variety of criteria.  In the industry, companies are often rated by “admitted assets.”  That means how much money they have.  Another way would be the number of policies in force.  There are other ways as well.  However, whether a company is the biggest, or has the most policies or the highest skyscraper doesn’t make any difference when you file a claim.  All life insurance companies and the insurance commissioners that regulate them are committed to their ability to pay that death claim when it occurs.  That is the reason that you buy life insurance.  The death proceeds come in US denominated cash and rarely know which company provided them.
