Why buy whole life insurance for children? Outside of the potential need for some life insurance if death occurs at such early age purchasing a whole life policy gives a child a head start. The price is cheap for a chunk of coverage that can be there for the rest of their life.
Once it is purchased they can't come back and take it away. The cash values never go backwards. I purchased whole life for my kids and their policies have performed well and there is a solid cash value and policy growth for them.
