People usually buy life insurance so that others will not suffer too much financially in the event of their death.

As we all know, grief can hit people in strange ways, and having the buffer of life insurance proceeds can help loved ones cope without having to make huge life changes in the midst of it. I have a friend who said when his father died, he, his mom, and other siblings had to immediately get jobs. He said his whole life would have been different if his dad had life insurance.

People also buy life insurance to leave a legacy to their loved ones by which they will be remembered, or to give to charities, or to enable family members to buy their business, or a realm of other things.

There are not many ways that someone can help others from the grave. Having life insurance is one.
