    Life insurance tests urine for medically underwritten life insurance policies to detect drug and nicotine usage, among other things. Urinalyses can show evidence of diabetes (or poor diabetic control), renal disease, cancer, blood disorders, or infection.

    Not all life insurance policies require a urine test; nonmed policies do not perform blood or urine tests.
