Life insurance is not hard to sell. It's actually very easy to sell.
When you're selling life insurance the main part of your job is prospecting for the right people. You are looking for the people who are aware that they need life insurance.

Think of it this way. If you were selling swimming pools it would be very hard to sell them to 90% of the people. But if you talked only to people who own homes, had yards and been thinking about buying a swimming pool it would be pretty easy to sell them.

Selling life insurance is the same way. It's very easy to sell to the right people and it's impossible to sell to the wrong people.

I do not find life insurance to be a hard sell at all. It is the only insurance policy that is guaranteed to pay a claim. You may never have a fire, or a car accident or ever get sick, but we are all guaranteed to die someday. Death and taxes are the only two things that are unavoidable.
