    Your Medicare Part A (hospital insurance) is generally free for most people as they've met their 40 quarters (10 years) of working life and paying FICA taxes. The monthly premium for Medicare Part B generally changes each year.  For 2014, the premium and deductible remained the same as it was in 2013 - $104.90 per month (this figure can be higher for higher-income individuals) with a $147 deductible.
