Does Medicare Coverage Vary By State?

    Original Medicare has the same benefits whether you are here in Georgia where I am or in Alaska, Hawaii or Maine.

    Medicare supplement plans also are identical in every state with regard to plan design.

    On the other hand, Medicare Advantage plans will vary within a state and from state to state.

    Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) does not vary by state.  Plan F in Florida is the same as a Plan F in Colorado.  However, the monthly premium can be different from state to state.

    Medicare Advantage Plans can vary by state because of the network, etc. The plans are based on which county you live in and different counties have different plans.
