X-rays are usually covered under Medicare Part B.

Medicare Part B has an annual deductible ($147 in 2013) that must be satisfied before Medicare pays for outpatient charges. After the deductible is satisfied, Medicare pays 80% of the approved amount and you are responsible for the balance.

Most people buy a Medicare supplement plan to cover some or all of the expenses approved by Medicare but not paid due to deductibles and coinsurance.
