The premium you will pay for plan F varies from insurance company to insurance company and from state to state. I would suggest that you take a long term view here and investigate the companies that sell Plan F in your state. Try to find information on their historic premium increases. The company that is the lowest initially, may not be the company that will be the least expensive over the long term.

Medigap Plan F is the most expensive plan in any area (and most popular) followed by D or G (depending on your state), N then Hi F.

Medicare supplemental insurance rates will vary by age, gender, zip code, tobacco usage and in some cases, by your height and weight.

Older individuals will pay a higher rate than younger individuals. An exception is for those who are under age 65 and on disability and Medicare. In most states rates for under age 65 are extremely high.

Many carriers offer attractive premium rates from age 65 to 74. Above age 74 some plans (surprisingly) become more competitive while others less so.

If you use tobacco it often adds 20% to the rate but can be more, depending on the carrier.

Online quotes are available but in many cases the more competitive rates are only available offline from a Medigap broker.

Truly depends on your state (or zip code), your age, height and weight (with some companies) and if a smoker.

The price is also affected by the insurance company's pool of people (insureds) and their claims. Often, plans with a sicker pool of people will have a higher premium. Insurance companies with fewer underwriting questions, tend to have a sicker pool, thus higher rates. Marketing budgets will also effect premiums. If you see a plan advertised heavily, it will be reflected in the rates.

Companies with a more strict underwriting guidelines will have a health pool of people and rates will tend to be lower.

Medigap plan F is, in my opinion, the most overpriced, oversold Medicare supplement plan on the market. In Georgia Medicare supplement plan F for a 65 year old ranges in price from $118 to $249. They are all identical in every way except price. When you pay more you don't get more, you simply paid too much.

The cost of Medigap Plan F can vary based on what state you live in, smoking status and your age.  Plan F is the most comprehensive plan on the market and therefore is very popular.  However, in some cases you may be able to get a Medigap plan that is almost identical to Plan F but the premium is much lower.

In order to get the best priced Medigap Plan F or any other Medigap plan you should work with an independent agent that can show you all the plans available to you.  The premium for Plan F can vary a lot between insurance carriers.

Medigap Plan F will vary in premium based on the state you live, your age & smoking status.  The best way to find the best priced Plan F would be to work with an independent agent that specializes in Medigap Plans.  They will be able to show Plan F from several top "A" rated carriers and help you compare the difference in premiums.  You may also want to compare Plan F with other Medigap plans to see which one will be the best fit for you needs.

You can run a quote on our website to see exactly how much Medigap Plan F would be.  I would be happy to answer any other questions for you.

Although Medigap Plan F benefits are standardized, the premiums are not. Medigap Plan F premiums differ based on age, location, tobacco use and sometimes health conditions.

The best way to locate a Plan F premium is by consulting with a licensed independent agent who specializes in Medicare Supplement insurance. Many times people are interested in researching and purchasing on their own, but that can often be time consuming and costly.  There are only a few insurance companies that provide premium information publicly and, often times, they are very expensive.  Working with an independent agent will allow you to find the lowest priced Plan F in your area because we can shop the Medicare Supplement market.  Why is that better than doing it yourself?  Independent agents are not employed by insurance companies, we work for you.

But don't stop at just finding an agent to sell you a low priced Plan F.  Work with an independent agent who will keep in touch, be accessible for questions, and review your premium annually. While you may start off with a low premium, you certainly want someone to look out for you as your Plan F premium steadily increases...and, it will.

Thank you for taking the time to read my response.  Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
