    You need to be age 65 to get Medicare, with some exceptions. You can get it at a young age if you have been on Social Security Disability for at least 24 months, have end stage renal disease, have Lou Gherig's Disease, or some other situations (within Medicare eligibility guidelines). There is no maximum age at which your Medicare coverage ends.
