    The rules of medicare requires the insurance agent to verify you are who you say you are and they must certify that they have interviewed you in a face to face conversation and the agent has to "recertify" every year in order to sell medicare advantage and the agent is accountable to assure if you have a "personal representative" or a "power of attorney" that person has to be present. The agent is also accountable to give you a "summary of benefits" and to assure you understand the type of policy you are purchasing and the coverages.
