In order to switch from a Medicare Advantage Plan to a Medigap Plan you must do it during the Annual Enrollment Period which is October 15 - December 7th. You can contact an independent agent who can show you all the plans available and help match a plan to your needs. A good agent will also go over the simple health questions with you to make sure you qualify. Your effective date for the new plan will be 1/1 and that is also when you will have your old plan end.

If you miss that window there is also a Medicare Advantage Disenrollment period that starts on January 1st - February 15th. A good independent agent will make your life a lot easier making the transition to a Medigap Plan.
