    You are not required to enroll in Medicare Part B. If you are covered under an employer group health plan, you may want to delay enrolling in Part B, especially if the group health plan is primary.

    If you do not have other creditable coverage, such as a group plan, and later decide to enroll in Part B you will be assessed a late enrollment penalty.
