   Your spouse is covered by Medicare at age 65, either through his or her own eligibility, or (if he or she is not eligible due to their own work history) through the work history of their spouse (you). If your spouse has not paid Medicare taxes through their own employment for at least 10 years, they can go on their spouse's plan, but not until they turn age 65.
