There are 11 different Medigap Plans which are also known as Medicare Supplement Plans.  All of the Medigap Plans have a letter so that you can tell them apart.  For example, Plan F or Plan G.  This was done in an effort to make it easier for people to review the different plans.  Deciding which of the plans that will be best for you is very individual decision.  You can save yourself a lot of time by working with an independent agent that specializes in Medigap Plans.  They will be able to review your options with you and explain the differences in the plans.

To add to what's above, the different lettered plans are A, B, C, D, F, G, K, L, M, and N.  There is also what's known as a high-deductible plan F which features the same benefits as a regular plan F - the different is you're taking on a deductible ($2,140 in 2014) to get lower premiums.  Plan N can be very competitive to plans F and G.
