    Original Medicare does not have a donut hole, but Part D (the prescription drug plan) does have a donut hole.

    Simply stated, most Part D drug plans have "front end" coverage where benefits are provided for formulary drugs and you have a copay.

    Once you have exhausted your initial coverage there is a donut hole or corridor deductible where you have only a discount on formulary drugs. Once you get through the donut hole copay's kick in again.
