    Medicare HIB means Medicare Hospital Insurance Benefits. Medicare HIB is the same thing as Medicare Part A. Medicare HIB or Part A mainly covers inpatient health care services, skilled nursing care, and home health services. 

    In contrast, Medicare Part B benefits are called SMIB, or Supplementary Medical Insurance Benefits.
