    Eclipse Medicare is an extension to Medicare Australia's online claiming solutions. The acronym stands for Electronic Claim Lodgment and Information Processing Service Environment. Eclipse provides a secure link between medical practices, hospitals, health funds, Medicare and the Department of Veterans Affairs. It allows in patient medical claims to be submitted and processed simultaneously with Medicare and private health funds, which in turn causes claims to be paid faster.
