When a person is on Social Security Disability for two years that person can qualify for Medicare benefits.  The person would automatically be enrolled when he or she is eligible.  At that point he or she would need to enroll in a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan.  A good local independent agent knowledgeable of, and certified to offer these plans, can help you make the choice that best fits your situation.
