   If you are currently in a Medicare Advantage Plan and want to switch back to original Medicare you may do so during the Annual Election Period with an effective date of January 1.  The Annual Election Period is from October 15th thru December 7th each year.  You may also have a Special Election Period should you move out of your plans service area, your plan is discontinued, or if you qualify for Medicaid or Low Income Subsidy.
