I am not sure if Medicare Advantage plans will ever be eliminated, however, they are having serious cuts to the benefits and doctors that are available.  Many people get excited about these plans because the low premium but the number that is most important is the "max out of pocket" cost.  That is the number you will pay out of pocket on an annual basis.  There has been a lot in the news lately about the benefits of Advantage plans changing and the 100's of providers that will no longer be in the network in any given area.

Medicare Supplement plans have less out of pocket costs and the benefits can not change from year to year.  In addition, not having a "network" to deal with allows you to go to anyone you want and not wondering who will get cut from the network next year.
